PORTLAND, OREGON: It’s a wonderful and eye-opening experience to see those, whom may be different than others, achieve big things. Enter: 15-year-old Eli Raimer, whom is now the first and only person to have ever reached the base camp of Mt. Everest [with Down’s Syndrome].
PEOPLE magazine was first to report the news, after Eli and his father Justin were interviewed by HLN T.V.
“He was actually leading us on the trail and we were the ones feeling our own sense of disability,” he said. “It was no big deal to him, the rest of us were sucking wind.”
