Man jailed for DUI for 13 years

931967-6-20130502081149One might wonder how an individual could possibly get a 13-year sentence for a rather small crime, such as a DUI — well, just ask Timothy Morrow. According to Newser, the lad apparently got his 8th DUI this month marking a judge to hand down a 13-year sentence for his reprehensible behavior.

Prosecutor Ben Dillon had this to say about the case:

It defies logic,” Dillon said. “It is clear this defendant just doesn’t get it and doesn’t care.” Morrow pleaded for leniency, telling the court he was abused as a child and that the police hadn’t listened when he reported it. The judge said that might help explain what “makes Timothy Morrow tick,” but that lots of abused people don’t constantly drive drunk. “You say you made a mistake,” he says. “You’ve made mistake after mistake after mistake, for 25 years.”
